US Open 2010 – Federer’s wonder shot
US Open is known as United States Open Tennis championships. There are four grand slam tennis events that takes place every year and US Open is one of them. US Open is hosted at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York City. This year there has been lots of promotional merchandise prepared of the big playes such as Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray. Well not surprising to be honest as they are the favourites to win it.
Though having said that Roddick has been knocked out of this year’s US Open in the first round by Serb Janko Tipsarevic. This is a massive blow for Roddick supporters also tells us anything is possible. He was looking good as he worked hard on his fitness. Many people have counted Roger Federer out after his dismal grand slams in Wimbledon and French Open but can you really call it dismal because he did win the Australian Open. No one will count Rafael Nadal out that’s for sure; the guy is a fighter and keeps fighting till the last moment. US Open is the only grand slam Nadal hasn’t won yet but I am sure he is determined to prove his critics wrong and win it. Rafael recently tipped Federer off his World number one position after winning Wimbledon.
As US Open is his favourite surface many believe this year Andy Murray will win his first ever Grand Slam title of his career. In the recent hard court tournament in Toronto, Andy Murray beat both Nadal and Federer to take the title. He has what it takes to beat these two and he has shown it in the big stage but now he needs to step it up. So far in his career he has reached two Grand Slam finals one at US Open and another Australian Open. He is definitely looking to improve and win one grand slam.
